BIFA Press Release | BIFA will once again play a prominent role at Multimodal 2026, using the UK’s leading logistics and supply chain exhibition as a platform to engage with members, industry stakeholders and policymakers on the key issues shaping the future of freight forwarding.
Reflecting on this year’s event, BIFA director general Steve Parker said that the international logistics sector is operating in one of the most dynamic and challenging environments in recent history.
“The pace of change across international logistics has rarely been greater,” said Parker. “Political uncertainty, evolving regulation, technological disruption and continuing pressure on global supply chains are reshaping the environment in which freight forwarders operate. Multimodal 2026 provides an ideal opportunity for BIFA to demonstrate how we are helping our members navigate these challenges.”
Over the past year, BIFA has expanded its programme of regional events, specialist briefings and online sessions, providing members with practical support, informed guidance and a strong industry voice. The Association’s recent Business Leaders Forum brought together senior industry professionals to explore emerging trends, discuss resilience strategies and share insight into the evolving logistics landscape.
Those conversations will continue at Multimodal 2026 where visitors to the BIFA Forwarder Village will have the opportunity to engage with the Association’s policy, compliance and management teams and learn more about the wide range of services available to members.
Discussions throughout the event will focus on some of the most pressing issues facing the sector, including customs policy, border reform, geopolitical disruption, trade tariffs and supply chain volatility.
The programme will also address longer-term challenges and opportunities such as sustainability, digital security and the growing influence of artificial intelligence across logistics operations.
Two highlights of BIFA’s participation will take place on the second and third days of the exhibition.
On day two, Pawel Jarza, BIFA’s policy, compliance and external affairs director will join an expert panel discussion examining the need to raise professional standards across the UK supply chain and customs sector.
On day three, Carl Hobbis, BIFA’s member services director will lead an interactive conference session, designed to provide potential entrants with 10 reasons to consider logistics as a career.
Meanwhile, BIFA TV will be broadcasting from the BIFA Village throughout the event, capturing industry insight, interviews and updates from across the exhibition floor.
“Our membership continues to grow, our services continue to expand and our commitment to supporting the freight forwarding community remains stronger than ever,” added Parker. “We look forward to welcoming visitors to the BIFA forwarder village and discussing how we can help businesses navigate both the challenges and opportunities facing today’s logistics industry.”
