We are reminding all members that the use of code ‘999L’ when submitting export declarations through the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) will not be allowed after 31 January 2025.

HMRC has issued a letter to remind trade about the change. Please find attached.

The full list of Y codes replacing ‘999L’ can be found here. Additional information can also be found here.

If you use the 999L waiver document code for imports after 31 January 2025, your declaration will not be accepted, meaning your goods will be delayed at the border.
