Following the latest CDS update, HMRC has identified a number of errors and issued supporting guidance to assist trades in mitigating the situation.
The errors related to:
- Item 10 in the attached document below. This should have stated that when Authorisation Type Code ‘FP’ is declared in DE 3/39, Goods Location Type Code ‘B’ is no longer mandated as the third character of a Goods Location Code in DE 5/23. The attached document contains the corrected guidance and more information for traders.
- SPS Document Code has been declared in DE 2/3 and no Country of Dispatch has been declared in DE 5/14 at header level. This is leading to declarations being rejected. The attached document contains details of the issue and how to resolve it.
In addition, Members are reminded that that DE 8/6 (Statistical Value) is mandatory on any Export declaration that arrives from the 15th January 2026 onwards. If DE 8/6 is not completed on an Export declaration, it will be rejected.
