On Monday 3rd November, the Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation (OTSI) published new guidance on countering Russian sanctions evasion for businesses operating in the freight and shipping sector, including freight forwarders, carriers, hauliers, customs intermediaries, postal and express operators, and other companies facilitating the movement of goods.
OTSI will be hosting an accompanying webinar to support you in understanding and reducing your business’s exposure to sanctions risks on Wednesday 26th November, 13:05 – 14:00.
The webinar will cover:
- an overview of the UK’s sanctions regimes and the implications for your business
- HMRC’s enforcement of trade sanctions on goods crossing the UK border and ancillary services facilitating the movement of goods, including freight and shipping
- Russian procurement practices and tips to help you protect your business from being targeted by bad actors
- an overview of OTSI resources designed to support you with compliance
- a Q&A session: feel free to share your questions in advance via BIFA or on the day
Prevention is better than cure: OTSI’s objective is to support businesses to understand their sanctions obligations and support compliance. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage directly with OTSI by booking your space today.
