The change at the Port of Felixstowe from the Vehicle Booking System (VBS) to Container Booking Service (CBS)  has proven problematic, with ongoing discussions including amongst parties BIFA making representations regarding the impracticalities of some of the Port’s original proposals particularly relating to timeframes.

The Port announced that to provide haulage partners a period of adjustment to the new system parameters, there will be no charging for Late Notification Period (LNP) changes, or peak time bookings during January.

Charges for Guaranteed Bookings and No Shows will still apply, with invoicing & collection for January applied as normal in February. The new charges will apply from February 1st, with invoicing in March.
