BIFA has previously advised Members with the EU’s Entry Exit System (EES) and the DfT has advised us that the GOV.uk page on EES has gone live; with information and advice including what EES is, why it is being introduced, the impact on journeys to the Schengen area and the action the UK Government is taking to minimise the impact.

The website does highlight that EES is the first stage of the wider deployment of digital systems to regulate travel to and from the EU from any country outside the Schengen area. Particular attention is drawn to the text about the ETIAS programme which is due to be deployed at a date to be announced in 2025.
