The Government has made an announcement on its plans to modernise the tax and customs systems which were set out in the HMRC Transformation Roadmap published in July 2025, and confirmed at Budget 2025.

As part of the modernisation plan, HMRC invites members to participate in two consultations on:
- Modernising the UK Customs Regime, and
- Introduction of Mandatory Registration for Customs Intermediaries
