The Department for Business and Trade is asking BIFA members to contribute to an ongoing government initiative called the Keep Britain Working review on health-related economic inactivity (also known as the Mayfield review).

This review has been engaging with stakeholders since March. Charlie Mayfield (the review lead) and officials from Department for Work and Pensions and Department for Business and Trade have spoken to individuals with relevant lived experience, such as employers, Business Representative Organisations, Trade Unions, education providers, and academics supporting the disabled. Engagement is continuing throughout May and June 2025. 

The primary source of evidence for the report is an online survey, which remains open until midnight on Friday 30th May 2025. They are encouraging businesses and other employers of all sizes, across all sectors, from all parts of the UK, to submit evidence through this form.

Your contributions will support Charlie Mayfield to develop recommendations for Government and employers that are specific, realistic, and proportionate alongside existing obligations. 

The survey owners are particularly keen for insights into sector-specific and location-specific situations, so the broader the range of employers they can reach with the survey, the better.
