The Centre for Business Prosperity at Aston Business School, University of Birmingham, has released a research paper entitled Unbound: UK Trade post-Brexit.

The Executive Summary states: “The findings reveal a sharp decline in both UK exports and imports with the EU, underscoring the enduring challenges posed by Brexit on the UK’s trade competitiveness.

From 2021 to 2023, the report says, monthly data shows a 27% drop in UK exports and a 32% reduction in imports to and from the EU. Such findings will have an impact on the activities of BIFA Members and the Secretariat is currently reviewing the report and will provide its analysis in due course.
