Following the initial announcement related to new arrangements for moving sheep meat, poultry and beef to Northern Ireland (as seen below), HMRC has advised of a minor issue with the new NI quota introduced on 30 September.

Currently, footnotes are missing in the online tariff to indicate the correct quota order numbers for NI and GB imports. This has led to a few instances where meat product movements into Great Britain were mistakenly claimed against the new NI quota instead of the UK-wide quota.

HMRC actively working to update the online tariff to resolve this issue. In the meantime, a ‘Stop Press’ notice was issued to alert traders and provide guidance.
