The Council of the EU has formally adopted the revised EU Deforestation Regulation on 18 December 2025. The revision confirms a postponement of application to 30 December 2026.

The legislative process is now effectively complete, and the revised regulation will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union and enter into force three days after publication

Until the revised regulation is formally published, the current legal application dates remain in force.
